First "Spanish", A half reale is there a way to clean it?
Found my first piece of Spanish the other day while walking the beach. I almost tossed it but something said keep it. By toss it I mean in my junk box. I remove all targets from the beach since a large part of humanity could care less about what they leave and where they leave it.
The coin is old and thin and not silver in color, one can just barely make out some relief of a cross. Is there some way to clean it so that it appears to look a bit more silvery in color?

Please stop it Brady.
Welcome to TN SFL. We would love to see a pic.
I live in a state of rules where I am not permitted to live on my own country land because my home is not 130 MPH rated! I can only visit it from time to time and pay the fines. I feel so safe with Big Government protecting me. In some states its illegal to collect rainwater.

All I smelled was a warm salty breeze! It has seen some wear and tear but one can make out the cross. I'm almost 100% sure it's my first piece of "Spanish".
Thanks for the support "wreckdiver1715" and "bigcypresshunter"

I think you have a Spanish cob. Looks like the Florenzada Cross. Could we see something in the picture for size reference? Did you find this in Palm Beach County or the Treasure Coast??
First thing is to soak it in distilled water. We have a conservative section that will help with preservation and instructions on electrolysis set up if you choose to go that route.

Treasure Coast. Give me a few minutes and I will try and get a few pics with some scale in them.
Thanks
OK here is the best I could do. Working with a pink ruler and a cheep digital camera but I think it will give more to go on. Holding it in my hand with a jewelers loop the detail is obviously easier to see. Thanks for any input.

don't rush to do this until someone with more experience can confirm that it wont hurt the coin.
how i clean my regular silver is. soak in lemon juice and drop some aluminum foil in. then pull it out , run it under some water and wipe with your finger. your coin doesn't look corroded ,just tarnished. again don't try this until you hear from someone with experience that it wont hurt the coin.

There was a little luck involved but I have to admit I had some good teachers. I'm willing to give it another try. One thing I do know is that if you don't have the coil to the soil you won't find a thing. "Now there's a shot across your bow."
