Plenty of caves around San Antonio, especially down the old Scenic Loop. Caves generally are on private property, but not all. That was my boyhood hobby...

I will have to check out and see if I can find some. I know about reading about some up in Rustlers Canyon the Sam Bass Gang hide out in and a few other places. I just never been able to make it out that far! I live outside Austin, but I will be checking out some areas around Ft Hauchuca, AZ real soon!

The NSS National Speleological Society. Everything you'd need to know.
I would also suggest joining the Grotto as going with experienced cavers is the safe way to go.
