I know nothing about stamps. Friend wants me to find out if it is worth anything. A google search is frustrating for someone not knowledgeable about stamps.
Hoping someone here can tell me if this stamp is common or might have any value. Thanks in advance.

It's seen it's better day but someone will always buy them. Check out ebay for a comparable item.

It is a 1902 issue classified as Scott's 300
It was a common stamp of the day.
Three other varieties of that stamp (Scott's 314, 316 and 318) could bring into the thousands of dollars.
Keep hunting.
