Up on Coffee Flat/ Picacho Butte there is a heart made up of stones placed by man or nature I don’t know. But from that point one can see Weavers Needle like in the Waltz doodle only reversed, and 4 Peaks in the distance.

Screenshot_2019-10-05-08-23-57-1.png these ruins are 60 ft. By 50 ft. Seems to be a corral and 2 rooms. I dont think they are native, but im no expert. In a pretty difficult location to get to also. Good water source right near it. I wonder who lived there.

they look like run basins , to water cattle, what happens is they would run streams into a pond to water cattle but in some cases the pounds would leech into the ground and make the pound fail over time and they would try to make another some where near by ...old school but it worked a lot of the time ..

Maybe a spot where someone in history pulled coordinates with a sextant to make a larger map... just an idea. I know nothing

I located a few stone building foundations or walls a few years ago, very similar to typical Indian workings, however I cannot see them on GE, so I cannot share them.

Most stone foundations you will find in the SWA will be old stone line shacks for cattle ranchers. Cowboys riding through the mountains built many such spots over the years. REASON: The Mountains is not the place where you want to be when a good storm blows up without a shelter. Near water is a good place for them so they can leave the cattle and horses and stay in some kind of shelter.

Same reason a lot of people that spend a lot of time in the mountains have water and food caches all over where they roam. That way, if the worst happens they are never caught with their pants down.

I was wonderng what is the highest elevation of mines\claims are in the Superstitions. Have you found things like arrastras, or other evidence of human activity?

There is a lot of evidence of human activity in those mountains, most, like Mike has pointed out, are remains from the cowboys and cattle ranches, then there is the remains of previous searchers, going way back to Walt’z time, a few are from Indian activity, Hohokam and Anasazi.
I think that “Circlestone” is at the highest elevation. Tom K wrote a book about it.
