just recieved the new GTI 2500!
well i just got the GTI 2500 from kellyco! first impressions were that "its very well made",followed by "its very heavy"! this thing is a tank! i guess i will get used to it.i have not yet had time to put it through its paces yet, and i have a lot of reading and learning to do,but im pretty stoked to finally have a new machine in my hands! maybe i can read up on it and try it out this weekend a little bit. one thing about the case it came in. it is very nice.........however you have to break the machine down entirely (even the coil from the stem) to get it to fit in the case. i think a bag would be better.the machine is very well protected in the case though.............im rambling :P....... i will post more later when i know enough to actually report something.

Re: just recieved the new GTI 2500!
Just recieved mine last week and had to send it back it had a faulty 12.5 coil and was losing the tone while hunting with the smaller coil and resetting to the factory settings while pinpointing but as the great company Kelly co is they are sending me a replacement but the 1 time I did get to try it while it was acting faulty I found a1911s Barber quarter and a 185? 3 cent piece. Now hopefully this one acts right and I can find all the brothers and sisters of the 2 coins I did dig. Saving the spot don't want the Ace 250 to have all the fun.

Re: just recieved the new GTI 2500!
Give it time and enjoy! I've never owned a Garrett but I have a well thumbed copy of Modern Metal Detectors by Charles Garrett and consider him one of the industrie's heroes (along with Dr. Gerhard Fisher).
I have heard the display can take some getting used to by those who have used other brands. But it is rugged and dependable. Good hunting.

Its a good machien Heavy, yep. There are a couple of bungie set ups that work for the
wieght. I use one made by Doc who sells prospecting supplies in NV~~ the Swing Thingy.
Its great. He makes his for the Minelab GP's but you can use them on any detector... besides
it helps keep it outta the mud when you really got the itch.
Good luck and swing low
As long as you keep dropping coins I'll keep finding them.

The GTI is probably good where the disc is usable.. But for me in Europe I see it as a piece of gold plated Wolfram.
Looks good on the outside, but not of very much use once you know what it is.
Geologists are gneiss, tuff, and a little wacke.
