    power lines??

    hi all! i would like to know what is the best settings for my dfx with the super 12 coil at a colonial cellar hole? i understand that its a big coil for a cellar hole powerlines or not and sometimes i have access to a small coil but i think i heard somewere to switch to a singal frequency. it works better under powerlines. can i get some input please?? dfx willy

    The power lines put out 60 hz harmonics or EMF waves. They also put out secondary harmonics of 120hz and so forth. So any frequency that is divisible by 60 will pick some interference at that close range. Spooky hit the nail on the head with 15khz. So use that if you can.

    As far as power lines go there is usually more interference when
    working at a 45 degree angle to them.
    It tends to get quieter working under them.

    HI: Yes, powerlines do effect many detectors. The secret to working around them is exactly the same as for wire fences, or next to buildings with re-bar, work parallel to them and turn down your volumn.
