Minelab Ex XS II

Is the upper shaft of my Mineab Explorer XS the same as the Minelab Explorer XS II?.......NGE

Made of different material, but are interchangeable.

I thought the upper shafts of both machines were aluminum? Only the lower shafts were diff. material. I was wondering instead of removing my Sunray X-1 probe from my Ex XS, that I would just swap out upper shafts......NGE
