Update! - Garrett Super Wand - Probe?

Moving this posting from tools to tech... Any thoughts?

Has anyone tried to use a Garrett Super Wand as a probe? They are about half the price of a pro-pointer on Ebay. If the sensitivity can be adjusted, would it work? Pic under tool listing if needed.

UPDATE - Just got a used Super Wand off Ebay for $40! It rocks in the field. Works great! Don't know if it is waterproof or if it will hold up. But so far it works great as a pin pointer!

The Harbor Freight pinpointer is under $20 with tax. It has external sensitivy controll, a spotlight that shines on the target, it automatically turns off to save batteries and it's easy to mod to add a target indicator light. Just mount the Super bright LED in the case and wire the leads to the beeper unit. The long lead of the LED goes to the red wire on the beeper. Under $20 beats $130 any day! Except when MTS is buying!!!
