I use a whites XLT & surfmaster PI. I have recovered a target at 2 feet on the beach, but I must confess it was a boat anchor. I have also recovered a license plate at 2 feet. Those were my deepest recoveries.

Re: What kind of detector do you use and deepest target you recovered with it??

I have used quite a few detectors and have found some really deep beach finds................
The deepest coin I ever recovered on land was in the woods under an evergreen; A silver quarter down right at a (very honest) 20 inches.
Now it was in mostly decomposed nettles, and BARELY registered (ziiiip, ziiip) with my Fisher 1266, which I had cranked to the max, sensitivity pushed in
    and full clockwise.
I almost passed it up, but if any of y'all have ever used a '65/66, then you know the zip I am referring to and it nearly always means coin.
By the way, it was a fairly worn 1945 quarter, and I dug a lot of Indian head pennies there from the 1870's and up at less the 4 inches!

I use a Whites M6 and the deepest target was 11 inches down with the stock 9.5 coil. The item was the handle of a old pail.

The deepest target I've recovered was with a Sea Hunter MKII. I don't take measurements so I can't say exactly how deep. Asking questions about depth is like asking a fisherman about the one that got away.

    I know that's right, GibH!
I was basing my measurement from the pole detent holes to the end of the shaft.
I don't carry a tape measure with me or anything like that!! LOL!!!
By the way, I LOVE the comparison to fishermen!!!!
    Now that's apples to apples!!

I recovered a 1903 V nickel at around 8" with my Ace 250 on my second or third hunt ever.

    No pinpointer.
Maybe it's time to stop not doing what you pretended you can do and can't, and start doing the thing that you can't do, but can no longer pretend that you can.

Had a fisher F5 that was repaired by fisher and it found a 1950's shirt snap button and sometimes cuff snap 1/4 ' in size.
It was 14" deep. The fisher had an extremely high beep and I never heard another detector with that high of a beep.
It said it was a dime.

I am now using cz5 that I am still learning, but in past using fisher 1236x2 with hothead coil found a brass matchsafe at 18",dimes and pennnies at up to 11"(8" coil)
using Whites Eagle 2 an IHP at 11",aluminum can at 2'(950 coil),using whites prizm 4 a wheaty at 9",using Whites spectrum cans at up t0 18",and a 6lb cannonball at 34",
but my deepest target was using a compass 77b yukon(C1974) a studebaker engine at maybe 5 ft.My Dad and Uncle had a big laugh at that Because they had buried it. as trash.

I have used a Chinese detector, a GTI 2500, an ACE 250, a SilverUmax, a Radio Shack 3000, and a Safari. The deepest thing I have recovered of value was a couple of clad dimes at about 9". The reason I know it was 9" was because I planted them in my coin garden. I have heard a few deeper targets with the Safari but I don't have the urge to dig that deep! Oh, both dimes were with the ACE 250. Most of my finds have been 6" or less. Monty

Silver quarter at 11" with a Cibola and a railroad spike at about 18" with a Vaquero. This particular Cibola will air test to 13.5 on a quarter. Have never hit a coin that deep except for a 12" coin in my test garden. This does not count. Too much like catching stocked trout in a mill pond.
