fisher 1265 connectors

hi everyone,i have a bit of a conundrum.i brought a fisher 1265 which i would like to use with my spare fisher 5inch and 10inch search heads which fit my 1235 and 1236 no problem.however these wont fit the 1265 as the cable connector on this machine seems to have the pins the opposite way ,ie male pins on the head cable and female reciever pins on the control box.on my other two fishers it is female connector pins on the head cable and male connector pins on the control box.does anyone know why there should be any differences.is it because my machine is an older model.could it have been retro-fitted with the head of a different model ie fisher 1260.is there a five pin female to female connector i could plug into the machine so it would accept the other coils.any help you could give me will be gratefully recieved,cheers das.
