I've used the sand shark for 10 yrs in fresh and salt water. With succes in both. There is no discrimination but on the beach and in the water I dig all good sounding targets. If I was going to buy one it would be the sand shark. Just my 2¢

Here's a better choice. Get a Whites Surfmaster PI It will find everything and goes deep. You should scoop everything on the beach anyway. Frank...

Tiger shark vs sand shark , I just required a new unit and did a preset test using factory set first straight out of box. 15:mins in water found 81 cents in three feet of water working a ebb tide along a small shelf..Tiger in salt mode hit the mark, now i am setting internal setting to equal prev. To sound and depth, any inputs about do's and don't 's? .thanks.
