    Inexpensive side scan sonars

Perfect for locating shipwrecks or other valubles. Please goto Burtonelectronics.com for more details. I design and build my own transducers and related circuits and therefore can keep the prices down on these single channel high resolution systems. These are based around a mass market recording echosounder. Remember to check out the new 'images' page for shipwreck images etc. All taken with this equipment. This is an image of the 'Water Witch' in lake Champlain VT. Notice the bowsprit and its 'shadow' as well as a shadow from a railing at the stern.

    Went to your website

    Hi GLB

I went to your website those images are very impressive ! Why a side scan sonar ? I guess you drag the sonar like an anchor at a certain depth behind a boat ? Also how many times do you have to go back and forth with the boat to scan the bottom to get an image like those posted ?

The metal locator seems very interesting. Can you tell me more about how it works and what is its purpose i.e. is it for bottom metal detecting for lakes and oceans ? can it be used for deep ground metal detecting ?

    Thanks

    Bulgarian
