    Removing Sand

    I need some help in findiing either someone that rents or sells equipment where i can vacume about 18" of sand off of the ocean bottom and searh the sand that I vacume for coins and etc. I am in approximately 80-100 feet. Thanks

    Sounds to me like you need some kind of big gold and coin dredge. Check the gold dredge dealers...Art

    there is a air lift you can make out of 2 in. pvc pipe that will work,
    just put a air line in to the pipe about a ft. above the bottom,
    there is more info on the web on this. mikey

    The tricky part seems to me to be the 80 to 100 feet of water. I'm not sure any dredge can handle that. Jim Cal

    Use a water jet, it basically the same as the airlift, but uses water injected at the bottom of the pipe, pushing the sand and anything else up the pipe and away from the diver. If you want pics of my hydrolifts, let me know

    forgot to add, unlike an airlift, which as they are used at deeper depths, you need more air volume, requiring a bigger air compressor, the hydrolift uses the same amount of water in 5 ft of water as 100ft.
