    Chest of gold in beach?

What detector and coil combination would be best for a chest 20"x12"x12", buried 4'-6' in beach sand and gravel? This would be a salt water beach, and just above what would have been the high water mark. I have info the spot gets wet when the conditions are right.

Is this a fresh water beach, or salt? How deep are you expecting "our" treasure chest to be?lol Is this a public beach or private? exactly where is this chest? (just kiddin)
To answer your question, if your serious, you would need to take these things (and maybe some others) into account.

A SOVEREIGN / W.O.T. COIL Combination would reach it no Problem. SALT or FRESH water.

    A Chest ? I'm guessing Salt

Re: Chest of gold in beach?

Thanks everyone for the tips. I'll be making a preliminary trip to scope out the area, in preparation for a hunt. The recovery will take precedence over the legality, although I don't yet know the restrictions, if any.
Goldvein, I did a quick web search and see pule is a certain type of technology. Any tips on who makes a reasonably priced one? Until I find it, price is a consideration. I take all suggestions seriously, and appreciate the expertice available to a novice on this site. The area is not that big, so the right tool is critical, so as not to miss it.

    Good pulse machine on ebay:

not a bad price for what you get and this sucker does go deep. Total price plus delivery would be about 1259.00 but then you could use it for years.

    Just my 3cents worth.
