I put the 4 inch coil from my Fisher f2 on my Omega 8000 and tried it out in my super trashy driveway. That bitty feller can separate like a champ and give the VDI numbers. The only problem is that unless the sensitivity is set to at least 12 o'clock (about halfway), it won't pick up a dime touching the coil. Oh, well! Sure wish I could find a 4 inch for the F44. The 6 inch F44 works very well on the Omega.

I believe the issue is the F2 coils are designed to run optimally at 5.9khz were as the Omega runs at 7.8 khz.

Fisher sells a screw on version for the F44 with a weatherproof collar.

Not sure of part number....give them a call and they have it. Not sure of any dealer that carries them.
