I will be visting some family for a week and was wondering if you guys could provide some advice on the metal detecting rules in the Nashville area. I was hoping to hit a handful of parks and possibly some of the recreation areas around J Percy Priest Lake. I checked the Nashville Parks and Rec web site seeking any rules and could not find any. Is it ok to metal detect Nashville parks or any of the suburbs? Has anyone searched around the lake (Army Corp of Engineers lake I think)? Here in Texas, you have to know where it is safe legally and where it is not as there are many citys and parks that prohibit metal detecting. If you get caught MD'ing where is prohibited, it can cost you steep fines and your equipment. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
