Urban Sprawl and Flooded Lakes have greatly reduced your chances of finding many civil war relics around Knoxville. I would divide my focus about 70% coins and 30% relic hunting. There are so many awesome old schools and church yards not so far from town that i would dare say has never had a good detector on the grounds. I would try to locate what TVA and USGS used to call 1935 Blueline 7.5 maps of the area. what makes these maps so special is that although the don't show topography , they show old schools and churches with most of them being produced around 1935 pre flooded tva lakes.

I have been coin shooting for years, I really want to focus on CW relics. I'm also a Combat Vet, so anything I find that is Infantry related I will cherish forever.

My Buell Ulysses is going to love the tail of the dragon. But I'm still going to be digging more than riding, lol.
