Hmmmm, You could very well have a break in the cable, from coil to control box.

All wires eventually encounter "wire fatigue"
Here's what I do,
Find yourself a mom and pop electronic repair store in you area.
See if they can detect a break in the cable.
In my gold machine, they usually occur in the connectors.
10-20 bucks tops
1-3 day turnaround vs. sending it back to the factory. up to a month

It's worth a look eh? :dontknow:

There is a park I was hunting last year, where the same thing happened to me. It got me beyond frustrated because it was between the goal post and the parking area of this large park. I know there are goodies there. The next time at that park , I asked the grounds keeper about it and he said that is power under ground power in that area. :coffee2:

It is usually the simple things that bug us. I wonder how many times I sent off a detector, paid a repair bill and the company did nothing.

Doing over a Tots lot at the beach and the Garrett went berserk, although the time before it was perfect and got $22 in 15mins.
In my case the Garrett doesn't tolerate salt water and after a high tide and storm, the area must have been highly mineralized.
My 2 bits....
