I have Grey Ghosts, and prefer the Black Widows over them. One tip, got to where they are selling ladies shoes and grab a pair of the socks to put on when trying the shoes.. Keeps sweat factor down in the Summer

These are worth the extra money for quality. Why use a great detector and phones that suck. You can't retrieve what you can't hear and when so many detectors give so much info with the sounds they make instead of BEEP, we need to hear all the tones and pitches.

I use the Black Widow's myself for my land phones. Might get an adapter to use them with the AT PRO. I've been thinking of getting a pair of Grey Ghost Ultimate waterproof for my Excal but hesitate to cut any wires.

Killer Bee Hornets are tough and comfortable...I accidentally slammed my car door on the cord and they still work fine. The leather or leather-like ear cup padding is nice in the heat, it doesn't get all slippery when you sweat on it. They cost about $120, but are worth it. Niffler

In the summertime, those full headphones become really hot, really fast.

I find those simple, lightweight headphones you can pick up for $20 at Radio Shack work just fine.

Killber B Wasps are perfectly matched for the silver umax. The sound will be loud and crystal clear. I love mine!

I'd like to try the hotrod headphones, and will remember the Black Widows are popular now...
I too use the RS headphones and am happy with them.
They give a good rendition of the sound quality Tesoro produces.

Sunray pro gold headphones are nice also but I don't like their leather earcup covers. It is very soft and comfortable but not very durable. If they would replace the leather with vinyl they would be
    just about perfect.

I had the Garrett Master Sound headphones and then upgraded to the Wasps with my silver umax. The sound was 100 times better. You might want to reconsider sticking with those Garretts.

How are those wireless headphone? That would be a great solution to the cord problem, but I thought I read an article some where (maybe on here) that questioned the performance with wireless headphones on detectors.

    Thanks for sharing the info.

    heres some more brands

    from their site

"Many thanks for the service of your excellent product of cordless
earphones which I safely received yesterday. I was using them when my
wife and I found TWO 3,000 year old bronze age hoards at Ludham in
Norfolk recently. We have found that they really concentrate your mind
when listening for those amplified signals, especially when detecting
alongside a busy and noisy road. The signals were sharp and very clear
and it was such a bonus not to be tied to our detectors whilst
searching and recovering a total of 59 Axe heads, Spear heads, Knives,
Gouges, Chisels and Tools etc. We can now go back out and search with
full confidence and perhaps find a third hoard, who knows?

why US tector makers cant make their own for their own machines i dont know .
