    Silver umax vs. Bandito umax

Has anyone had the pleasure to test side by side, comparison?
Whats the difference in these two. They are both umax both operate at 10KHz, but one has more knobs to tune??
Is one more dedicated to ?? Help with some insight

    Hi Rey.

I have never used the Bandito.

Some may disagree with me, but if I'm buying a detector, I'm going to go in favor of the one with the newer technology. In this case, that appears to be the Silver uMax.

    Just my two cents.

In my opinion the Bandido micromax is a way better and more versatile detector than the Silver micromax.
The Silver is a minaturised version of the original Silver sabre with fixed ground balance and is a simple discriminator that ranges from All metal to max discrimination.

The bandido has a true All metal mode with manual ground balance plus a discrimination mode.
This detector will get much better depth than the Silver where the ground minerals start to get high.

I thought the same, Thanks for your feed back. How would you compare it to the Vaquero?

Re: Silver umax vs. Bandito umax

The Vaquaro is a similar detector but has the addition of frequency shift, VCO and operates at a slightly higher frequency than the Bandido.
The frequency adjust can help eliminate interference from other detectors and other EMI, this makes it usefull when in competition hunts where there are other detectors close by. VCO makes pinpointing easier and some operators feel that it makes small signals more noticable. The higher frequency (14Khz approx )may give it a bit more sensitivity to small gold nuggets (in theory) than the bandido (10 Khz). Not a huge diff between these two detectors but the extra features of the vaquaro make it a fairly nifty item.
