Tejon settings for dimes, and battery question

Hi all. I am wondering how others have their Tejons set up for silver dimes. I am slightly above foil on disc one and double check with descrim two on tab. As for the batteries..... I get decent life out of them. I find that I'm 6-7 beeps for a reasonable amount of time, 10 or more hours, then it stays five beeps at start up for a longer period. Does your Tejon do this ? Also, am I losing depth running at five beeps? I read somewhere that a guy tosses his batteries at five beeps. But that seems like a real waste to me. I do admit losing confidence and changing out around 4-5 beeps. How about you ?

I never found the strength of the batteries to affect depth as the output is controlled by the electronics. Your disc settings are fine as silver dimes are very conductive. You will increase your fines by using Detector Pro headphones. I really like the Black Widow's for comfort and sound but Grey Ghost's are good too.

Thanks Sandman. At what number of beeps do you replace your batteries ? I'm running cheaper (but effective) headphones now, and should actualy get the good stuff this winter.

I just changed mine after taking them down to two beeps...The Tejon was still working fine but I figured "what the heck" I had plenty of energizers on hand, but your right, mine stayed at 5 beeps for quite a long time. I figured I easily got 25hrs. with no headphones on my last batch...
Current Lineup: Fisher Gemini III, Troy Shadow X2, Garrett AT Pro, Tek G2, Fisher F2, Tek Omega, Tesoro Tejon, Tesoro Silver Sabre Micro & many coils for all...

I have a bunch of 2600 Mah Duracell rechargables that I've never used with the Tejon. I should experiment a bit.
