    Cortes?

Anyone use this detector? If so a summary of it's performance and build quality?

really good machine, fairly accurate and is pretty deep and light to swing, does have tones in what is called the SUM mode to give you an idea of target, all coins will show 95 unless its a nickel then will be in 37 to 44 range has a back light to it too 10khz operating freq, the deleon is just as deep just a bigger screen a few less knobs and they both share the same circuitry

One thing you need to know is if you are on the West side of the United States, the Cortes and the Deleon screen is unstable. They work great on the East side of the U.S.

    Re: Cortes?

Aside from the obvious of not having a display, how does the Tejon stack up to the Cortes? Does it have more depth or the same? I assume pinpointing would be the same with both. Sorry to hijack your thread CoilFisher.

hello there, i've owned the tejon also and is very deep but sens too 17khz double disc would great for jewelry also but i honestly prefer the vaquero seams alot stabler for our ground and some occasions the ground on the tejon can't get a good adjustment plus the vaq is lighter at the same time 1 9 volt battery vs 8 double AA, my opinion and in our ground being a mainer i see the vaq is almost as deep

    Re: Cortes?

The build quality in my opinion could be better. It also is hard to use if you're in an area with electrical interference. Other then that I love it ! It's the lightest detector I've ever used, loves silver and Indian head pennies and the tones are perfect for me. Also has really good depth and the price isn't bad for the performance you get from it.
