Cibola and Vaquero depth question
Just curious if there is any real difference between these two other than the ground balance. Depth and pinpointing accuracy are the 2 things I'm curious about.

Re: Cibola and Vaquero depth question
Ground balancing will give you more depth. The vequero will go deeper just because of that feature!

Also because of Ground balancing the disc circuits work more accurately.

Hello SMC you can't go wrong with a vaquero i hohnestly think for the money and simplicity at its best one of the best on the market handles Maine soil very well and have dug 8" dimes easily but once in a while you get that deep nail but weight VS money VS performance it will hold its own
always on the quest of finding the machine that fits me!

Re: Cibola and Vaquero depth question
The Vaquero has become my favorite detector for coin and jewelry hunting. The Cibola is a good detector, but the V will go deeper. It is very sensitive to tiny targets at depths you have to see to
believe, and runs almost totally silent in the nails. It loves nickels and hits on them hard. While I haven't found any gold with my V yet, I'm sure if I get the coil over a ring the V will find it.
For the money, nothing comes close to the V in performance.

Re: Cibola and Vaquero depth question
Just a quick air distance comparison. The Vaquero would hit 3/4 of an inch to an inch deeper than the Cibola..This on all the coils, std, 5 inch conc, and wide scan, and the clean sweep..Ohio ground here is mild and there was a bit more difference with my V grounded out.. I have a ten turn pot, which really ups the sensitivity. ADDED ON.. I did not use the 3 by 18 coil on the Cibola because it does not have a manual ground balance...I've been finding that addition of the clean sweep coil (once balanced out with a stock coil for the area) requires a GB adjustment to be perfectly balanced... My comments on a ten turn pot vs std three turn.. Only do it if you are going to use the clean sweep and wish to maximize your depth....
