    Treasure Mate Pin Pointer Reviews

I am considering a pin pointer and from what I have read the Tesoro sounds good. Any one have any experiences with this? Reviews about performance is appreciated. Thanks

    deathhare,

Probably because they prefer to manufacture and let dealers do the selling. When I was researching pinpointers back in 2007, the Treasure Mate pinpointer was being sold by Treasure West, 1235 NE 2nd St, ste #2, Bend, OR 97701 (Phone 877-698-8881). Today, using Google, I was unable to find a website for Treasure West selling the Treasure Mate pinpointer. However, I did locate the following dealer:http://www.goldfeverprospecting.com/treasuremate.html.

    Hope this helps a little.

Good point, I sent Tesoro an email inquiring why it is not listed on their web site, will be intersting to see what they say if they answer.

ToddB64 thanks for the link. I found several reviews online, all are positive except for minor things like the knobs being too loose and turn changing balance and so on (this can be fixed with an o-ring).

We get alot of flake gold here in the black sand so it interesting to see how well it does work...

    Cariboo5,

Re the link, you're welcome ! Based on my past experience with e-mails to Tesoro and others who reported the same a few years back, they were either taking weeks or never replying to e-mails.

I believe it was due to lack of office help at the plant. Maybe things have changed for the better by now.... I hope so.

Best bet would be to phone them here :

Hope the Treasure Mate pinpointer works great for you !

The Treasure Mate is manufactured by Tesoro for Treasure West. Treasure West is now JOBE Wholesale. So any dealer who uses JOBE Wholesale as their distributor has access to them. I believe the same scenario applies (or did ?) of Troy detectors being manufactured by Tesoro (X2) and now First Texas (Fisher) for Troy.

Re: Treasure Mate Pin Pointer Reviews

I had one for three years. I have to be honest and say when it was working it was a great probe. I had to send it in three times for various problems ! One I believe it was my fault the other couple of times the vibrating buzzer went bad. I went detecting with it one day when I got an emergency phone call, in my hast I dropped it and drove away. Went back the next day and it was no where to be found!
I have a Garrett probe now and would highly recommend it to every one. I wish Tesoro would come out with their own Probe similar to the Garrett. One of the things I did not care about the Treasure Mate was the ground balancing nob. Just seemed useless to me, as I was told not to ground balance unless I was detecting for gold
I have to say I love Tesoro Detectors But the Treasuremate wasn't for me.
Enjoying life one day at a time !
