Sorry Guys, I found the answer. . . .

The concentric coil uses two round antennas, one inside the other. This coil is used on most detectors that are designed for coin, jewelry, and relic hunting. Concentric coils discriminate very well and pinpoint very easily because the strongest signal is always in the center of the coil.

Widescan coils use two D-shaped antennas that are placed back to back. Because of this configuration, they are also called “double-d” coils. The widescan coil is less affected by mineralization than the concentric, so it is generally used for gold prospecting or relic hunting in bad ground. Pinpointing is done with the heel or toe of the coil. After determining the type of coil that is best for your type of hunting,

There's no such thing as a dumb question. . . glad you found and shared the answer. Thanks!

Also realize, the detecting patten of a concentric is shaped like a cone or funnel with the deepest point being in the very center (small) of the cone like this: \/ . A DD coils pattern has a straight detecting shape that doesnt narrow at it's deepest point like this: l l
the DD offers slightly less depth than the concentric, but has larger search area and handles mineralization better.
Concentric is deeper but has a smaller search area at deepest point of detection pattern.
