Good video. I always use the pinpoint button for ground balancing instead of putting the detector in all metal mode. This allows me to check my ground balance often without changing my discrimination setting. Do you think there is any real difference between the two techniques?

Now that you mention it, I have no idea. Heck, I've never even tried your technique! I'll ask Rusty at Tesoro, but I don't think there would be any difference at all! Great Tip! :icon_thumright:

why do most of the tesoro sound so cheap like they don't have a well built speaker
must be the single 9 volt battery design

No Liftloop, it has nothing to do with the speaker. The speakers only produce the sound sent to them.

Tesoro detectors are not made to play beautiful music, they are made to find beautiful treasures. :-D

The tesoro line of detectors have a very beautiful tone to me. I am sure the same speaker in them is also quite similar to all other makes and models plus some car audio speakers or anything with a speaker. Its what's sent to the speaker not the speaker itself

"Super Tuning," is basically just maxing out your sensitivity and threshold controls while in Discrimination mode. You ground balance normally in All Metal, then flip it into Discriminate and max out your Sensitivity and Threshold. BE CAREFUL! This can actually decrease your depth in some soils - kind of like turning your stereo speakers up to maximum power. Yeah, it's loud, but you can't hear individual instruments - or, like bright lights in fog. Play with it and see what works for you.

I just ordered the Vaquero and watched this very helpful video.
I know there are many comments on youtube with this question but I have to ask it again to make sure because the answers are not clear on youtube:

I suppose after doing all the procedures in your video, the threshhold is turned back again right? I don`t suppose the Vaquero is made to make that sound during the entire hunt right?

or how do I get rid of the sound again in order to hunt properly?

Sorry for the stupid question, it just doesn`t come out clearly in the video.

Thanks for the video Terry. My Vaquero use to always ground balance on the upper half of the knob like yours does in the video but now it is balancing on the bottom half. Is this normal? Doesn't seem to affect the depth any.

Good video - I've found with my manual Ground Tesoros that it's easier to get a good ground setting if I have the threshold hum a fair bit louder than I would for detecting in all metal so I turn it down to a slightly audible hum once the balance has been set.
