Broken Compadre

i just purchased a Tesoro Compadre from Kellyco and i just recieved it today when i got it assembled i air tested it and noticed it wouldnt pick up coins jewelry or pulltabs but it did pick up a large aluminum table and my fan then after i grabed the control box cord and held it down it picked them up fine but only when i held it down and it was very eratic should i contact kellyco and send it back please help !!!!

STOP! Read the manual AGAIN. Now go OUTSIDE. Turn on your machine and do the air tests again. Not Working? Call Kellyco, or Rusty at Tesoro!

i just tried the air tests again it didnt work it wont detec do should it anything nails.coins.or pulltabs what should i do

Well, the Compadre has only one knob and that controls discrimination, not sensitivity. When you turn it on, set it to All Metal mode (first option) and leave it there for your air tests. If you turn the knob up any more then the detector will start discriminating out some objects (which is actually useful when you haven't seen the target yet). Air tests should be conducted away from any interference (which means the detector should be silent until you wave some metal at it). If your detector won't respond to a nail within 6 inches in All Metal mode, then there is something wrong and Tesoro will fix it for free.
