I've owned 4 Tesoros in the past and decided to pick up a barely used Silver uMax for tot lot coin shooting and days I want to swing a feather or when my 11 year old daughter wants to hunt. I have never seen a stainless steel screw with black plastic knob (with a brass insert) used to attach any coil on any brand. I'm pretty sure that's not the best fastener to use as most I have ever seen are plastic so it doesn't interfere with the coil field. Anyone else's Silver have this type screw? She's a beautiful specimen of simplicity at its finest.

Must be a older unit. I have one on a new to me Bandido II uMax. I changed it to a nylon bolt and nut.

Ok so that may be a Tesoro OEM screw? I'm not sure but the shaft seems more bright gold color than the new ones I see online.

I have more connectors of that sort than plastic. That's all they used to use. I've never been able to tell any difference in the field or general testing that it made any difference at all. Also, for a number of years they used a shorter metal lower pole with a plastic insert between the pole and the coil - same thing - couldn't see any practical difference. I'm still using both combinations on all my Tesoros.
