I just started detecting about 6 months ago and am currently using a Compadre. I am in southern California right next to the beach. I want to find a detector that will be great in saltwater and black sand. Would that be the Tiger Shark? Any other suggestions?

If you are a dig it all or scoop it all guy in the sand, consider the Sand Shark. You will be digging deep!

One thing for sure, the SS will hit every target on the beach and in the salt water

Thanks! I am looking at 3, but will probably stay with Tesoro and just buy the Sand Shark.
