Three questions.

I have noticed there are two placements with the discrimination button on the Compadre, which one is older and which one is on the newer release? And the speaker grill is different as well. To me the slit grill with the discrimination lower for easier thumb contorl tells me that is the newer one. Also are both ED180 circuitry discrimination? Was there any other changes made?

Thanks.

Round holes is older, works the same. Some say the older ones are a little deeper, "hotter" than the newer, but it's probably the individual units.

I have a 7" coil version with the slits and lower knob which occupies just about the same place as my Vaq.
I thumb up and down on everything all the time so the higher knob placement would not be to my liking at all after thumbing that knob on about a bazillion targets over the years.
