Congratualtions, Wegland. BOY HOWDY TO YOU!! We give you honor and glory.

This sure didn't take long. The stage is the world.

Wegland, if I find a 1909 wheat this year, you will know about it. Wanna share some of that glory you're getting.

You should make it the oldest Penny on a tesoro and it would go to the end of the year, suspense would build then.

The original contest rules was that it had to be a Tesoro. 1909 was the first year of the wheats. So contest over, unless you agree to include Indian Heads, or other 1 cent pieces.
All must be dug this year, and contest ends 12/31.

I say game on.

Well I blinked and the contest was over.
Too easy and Welgund with the Mojave is just too good.

Make it harder, just off the top of my head maybe the oldest modern British Penny, (1901-1970)...that outta be a challenge for everyone here in the states and last a little longer.

Why, I just realized I found one a few weeks ago!
Nothing fishy about that, just a coincidence...really. :laughing11:
My story and sticking to it.

Found with my Mojave, I should get extra points because it is a relatively rare one in unusually great condition and for digging it up in Alabama, I would think.
Just a suggestion.

Nice. Real nice. I'd thete is one in Alabama, has to be one in Georgia.

So, contest rules now state ALL ONE CENT PIECES. This includes indian heads and all others.
Has to be dug with a Tesoro, all of 2017. Ties count too. Glory will be shared.
So right at this moment, the leader is :

WEGLAND: 1909 Wheatie

Welgund, you are still the leader, with the 1898 Indian penny.
Congratulations.

Nsdq, unfortunately, 1/2 cents don't count. However, we give you honor for finding such a great coin.

Okay. GAME ON. 1898 and below.

Ammoman continues to romp through the competition. 1891 indian head penny.
He can be beat, but it will have to be one tough ombre.

The 1886 ihp would place you in the lead. Two questions: did you dig it in 2017, and did you find it with a Tesoro md? Those are the two qualifications.
A picture would be nice, but we do work on an honor system.

We will all be anxiously waiting for your reply. The suspense is killing us.
