Does that one have the French face plate/decal? Some of the French models look very cool.
Should be an excellent detector for you.
That model is still my favorite detector and a treat to use in trashy spots. Get a 5.75” coil for it..

Is English face but have manual instructions one in French and one in English , 8" coil

I’m going to buy another Tesoro. I can work on them myself, I’ve fixed many electronic issues with them ie: potentiometer, wires, coil plugs, can usually fix anything except for a board. If I had one that needed a new board I would get a donor Tesoro to use the board from. I definitely will be buying another silver hound, or a relic killer

If you get enough call for repairs, the boards can be copied easily enough and the chips can be sourced too.

I forgot all about the boards being copied. There’s a place right up the road from me that’s exactly what they do is produce circuit boards for things such as TVs, computers, phones, anything that has a board they make them, and can copy them. I had a CD player in my truck the board went out in it from vibrating so much, and fortunately a good friend of my dad has worked there since high school, and still works there. I talked to his buddy last week about what all they still produce out there, and he said anything, and everything, said you bring us the board we can reproduce everything on it for you.

Well, if you have enough customers, maybe get a few of the most commonly damaged boards made up.. I suspect that the water detectors may be the most likely to need ‘em in the near future. That said, all of my land Tesoros seem pretty tough. I took a tumble down a steep hill not long ago and my Tejon came out looking better than I did (just a few bruises for me, thankfully). Stuff happens.

Yeah boards tend to go out more on water units. I had one go out on mine. The land ones are beasts. I’ve rolled down a hill with one, fell on one, and still stood up to all of that

I have minelab equinox 800 and I have a problems with wiring the Gray Ghost headphones to original minelab jack. Can you help me to figure out how to connect those wires. I want to use waterproof connecter in case in the future I want to use those headphones for another detector. IMG_1744.JPG
