After reading some of the less than pleasant opinions about Tesoro detectors, can't wait wait to take one of mine out for a walk on the Santa Fe Trail in the morning to see what is hiding in the dirt. Taking the Equinox 800 too, if only I could teach it to hunt fields and woods as easily as the Cibola does. They both have their place, just wish the Equinox would pinpoint as fast and as accurate as the Cibola. I too wish Tesoro was still in business and doing well. Rusty handled any issue I had with speed and a great attitude.

one would think the trademark name TESORO would have had some value..

To whom? Metal detecting is a niche hobby seen as weird by a lot of people. The only people interested in the Tesoro name are a small group of people in the metal detecting hobby. Tesoro is dead.

I like tesoros myself but agree they needed to modernize quite a bit, a foreign company like nokta busted out with a detector that i wish they did and at a great price to boot. Garret has had nothing ground breaking imho and seem to be headed the same way. At series is nice but looks to be less for more.

Add White's to that group as well.

Are any of the small parts like arm brackets and battery doors still around or did that inventory go down south as well? Any aftermarket sellers carrying these?

Does anybody still repair Tesoro's?

Depends on what you need fixed. I repaired 90% of mine, and what I couldn’t as far as boards I’d send in. PM me if you have any that need worked on or looked at. Very simple easy machines to work on or modify.

My Tiger Shark got me a good bit of gold last summer, and also for many seasons before that. I'm careful with it so hopefully it will never need repair. It's heavy as hell though.

Sad to see them go when there are so many people who still use them.. It happens what can you do...

If anyone needs repairs contact me, and tell me what your issues are, and I will explain the cost of repair, and shipping info. Been working on them for years. Did my own electronic mods on Cibola, and Vaquero

Anyone considered these detectors over time might became "worth their weight in gold". Hah hah.

I doubt. Probably go the way of Compass. A Compass Relic Magnum 7 was my 1st detector.
