After my dad passed away I had the job of cleaning out the home he and my mom lived in for 43 years. I knew some time back he bought a White's XLT. It took me close to a year to clean everything out, but was surprised to find two new in the box Tesoro units. There was a Sand Shark and Black Vaquero in the house. So just like that, I gained a new hobby. Been playing with all three, just waiting for a break in the weather to use them somewhere else than my backyard. This weekend looks promising. I'll report back with any finds, but looking forward to practicing what I learned from this forum and YouTube.

Those Tesoro detectors are no joke. I made some of my best finds ever with mine. Welcome to the forum, and good luck on your hunts.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Tesoro!!!
They are very simple but extremely effective machines once you learn what they're saying.
That vaquero you have is no joke.
Since it's the black one, did it come with the 11x8 RSD DD coil? You pinpoint a little different with those using the front of the coil, but you can find videos about that :-)
Get the basics down, get to learn the nuances of the single tone, and have fun!!!

I don't have any of their underwater detectors but I'd imagine you inspect and lube the seals before trying to take it under water.

Welcome!
You have inherited some FINE equipment, there...!
Yes please report back with some of your finds...!
Try guessing the metal before digging. Remember, those machines will/
want-to report info about your prospected target - use all the clues
you can, to determine to dig or not...!
Remember that we ALL dig a lot of trash, before good stuff shows up...!
You have the big job in learning two machines - don't give up!
Warning: Metal Detecting has been known to be ADDICTIVE...!
