I will be visiting the San Antonio area the 18th-22nd of June. Wondering if all the parks in the area are open to detecting and if there are certain areas you would suggest I avoid. Thank You. PJ
You need a permit to hunt the parks here, the permit is free, if you email me I can get you that infor. most parks here (north and south) are safe in day light hours. All down town parks (the older ones) are prohibited to metal detecting and I have clean out all deep signals in the south side for the last 5 years except for the playgound areas, I use large coils only, the north side are newer parks with tons of clad and the west side is old which I will began to visit this fall but go early or take a buddy. The oldest coin I have found is a 1853 at riverside park but they just put that on the prohibited list because its runs by the Golf course next to it.
