Mikayla Alford is the 5mth old daughter of Police Officer Ronald Alford. She is in Cook's Hospital in Dallas and has been diagnosed with have three brain tumors. One very large tumor is in the left side of her brain and two other are in the right side. Due to an elevated white count, they cannot try to do surgery until Monday and they do not even know if the tumors are operable.
I would like to thank everyone for the prayers for the baby and family.And to let you know where they are. and that we need all the prayers for this family we can get. Thank you Peggy
The baby and her brother Hunter both have cancer.They think the tumors are rooted in her brain stem if they are they will close her up and make her comfortable.

Doctor had a sit down and showed us the MRI today it really does look bad. It seemed like he really wanted us to come in and make sure we understood the very high risk of death with the surgery and tumor combined. I've broken down several times over the last few days and am doing so again as I type this from my phone. So please keep us in your prayers and pray for Mikayla's safe return home
Thanks for all the prayers and the one above for watching out for the little ones . I've been getting text updates from my sister during the day on surgery but Just now got updates,on how it went. The tumor was larger than expected. They removed it from the inside out. She will be on seizure medication for three days, not because she had a seizure, but to prevent one, and I was told last night that the brother is cancer free at this time or in remission. I'll keep all of you in my prayers thank you again.
I don't know a thing about them. However, I was a police officer for 25 years, so if Ron needs back-up I gotta respond. Dios mio, los ninos. We're up here at about 10,000 ft. so maybe our prayers will get there quicker. We'll do that in Spanish and English, so we get better coverage. Keep us posted and let us know what we can do.
Sorry I havent updated ya'll long week. They did surgery on Monday, and put her on anti seizure meds. She has been haveing seizures, but her sodium was low.
This is From the father Ron on Friday: Just spoke with DR. BO. He advised us the report is not yet complete, but from the notes he has observed from the pathologist on the tumor no malignant (can't spell) cells have been located as of yet. So (Crossing Fingers) lets all pray the final report contains the same notes. WOOOT! I'm a little excited now.
I think the other surgery to remove the other tumors this Thursday. she is a trooper, and was smiling and playing Fri. night. so she wasn't in much pain then.
Mikayla's Surgery went well today. The doctor removed a tumor the size of a racket ball. The tumor is a High Grade Glail Tumor, which means it is Malignant. The tumor has been sent off to a specialist in Boston to find out further about it. We will be notified of further information on the tumor when the doctor finds out from the specialist. While in recovery Mikaya suffered from a seizure and was given medication
