Prayers needed ASAP *Update*
My wife's dad is in very bad shape. He had a massive stroke a few days ago and has been in ICU ever since. He was paralyzed on his right side, as well as losing his ability to swallow and speak. He was doing so good, after a couple of days he had regained the use of his right arm and leg, and could swallow, but he never regained his speech. Night before last, he had another stroke, and he isn't showing any recovery this time. Tests have shown that his brain is swelling, and the doctors say that if it continues to swell....he will die.
My father in law is an awesome, kind man. This is hurting me, but it's tearing my wife apart. She is a "daddy's girl" and is VERY close to him.
Please, please, please....pray for my father in law and family. Pray for his recovery, and if God's will be otherwise, pray that the acceptance of the fact is as gentle as possible.
Thank you all so much for being here. Thank you for caring for others. Thank you for your prayers.
I'm sorry I'm kind of rambling, I started crying right after I started typing this.
Thank you all, God bless you.
Eddie

Eddie, most of us have been through this and understand what you're going through. It's so hard to not know which way this will come out. We pray for you and your wife and family ... especially to have strength for whatever comes. Keep us informed, please.

Re: Prayers needed ASAP
Hello everyone....sorry I haven't been keeping up with updates on my father-in-laws condition. There's just a lot going on right now. He is hanging in there...he has good days and bad days. They started him on a morphine drip to ease the pain from the swelling of his brain. He is lucid, he recognizes his family, so that's a good sign.
You will LOVE the story I'm about to tell you. It shows just how awesome God is. My son Preston is 6 years old. He went with my wife went to see her dad in the hospital. Keep in mind that her father had been unresponsive for the most part of the previous 2 days. Well, when they went, Preston told everyone that he "wanted to say a prayer for Papaw". All the adults in the room dutifully bowed their heads and then Preston began...."Our Heavenly Father"....
And what came out of this small child's mouth was most unexpected. Our son began to pour his heart out....an innocent child pleading for the hand of the Almighty to reach down and heal his Papaw so that he could go outside again, to be with the family, ride skateboards with Preston, and let the family be whole again. He asked that his Papaw be able to tell his family once again how much he loved them, that he might be able to soon get up and walk out of the hospital.
And then he asked that ALL the people in the hospital would be healed and be able to go home to their families.
When he finished there wasn't a dry eye in the room.
But what happened next was the miracle. My father-in-law opened his eyes! He opened his eyes and looked around the room for the first time in 2 days. Now people may say its coincidence, but I know better.
Thank you all for your prayers. Please don't stop!! Dwayne (my father-in-law) is far from better, and still needs us to pray.
Thank you all, and may god bless each and every one of you.
Eddie

Re: Prayers needed ASAP
Childrens prayers are so pure and wonderful! Even there presence in a room is powerful. When my daughter was little we had lived with my grandmother before the demon (my mother) stuck her in a nursing home but she was taken to hosp. And un responsive said she would not make it through the night. They stopped me at the doors to ICU and said I could not bring the 4 yr old back and I said if shes not making it then this one is going to say goodbye when we got back there she started talking to her greatma and then she came around and tried talking to her, next day she was in rm then back to the home.
This is the day the Lord hath made we shall rejoice and be glad in it!

Re: Prayers needed ASAP
Thank you all for your continued prayers. It means so much to the family to know that there are people out there that will take a few moments of their day to pray for another person.
My father-in-law is still in the hospital....probably will be for a long time. He got really bad 4 days ago and the doctors told the family to call other family members in to see him. They also called the chaplain in. But......God wasn't ready, so Dwayne is still here!
He has started speech therapy, and he gets aggravated easily with the therapist. It's easy to tell when he's had enough of her....he rolls over onto his side, closes his eyes, and pretends he's asleep. As the therapist is leaving, he rolls back over and flips her a bird!
The docs have said that according to his test results, it is impossible for him to be doing as well as he is.
Keep praying, please!!!!!!!!
