For my 2000th post, I thought I'd do something special. I just wanted to make a post in honor of my good detectin' buddy and true friend, Kindafoundabuckle. When I met him in late fall of 2005, I had no idea that our friendship would grow to embrace metal detecting so fully, as well as much, much more. Lets be honest here--when you go detectin with someone for the first time, and pull a beautiful CW sword belt plate out of their site and they aren't jealous over it, you know you've found a true friend. I think I knew it then--but the lasting friendship that our hobby has created for us has been proven over and over again since. For those that don't know Kindafoundabuckle, I can honestly say that it is a great loss for you. He is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.
Before KFB and my first hunt, I was too swamped with work to make a decent stab at detecting. Since January 2006, I've seen tons of great CW relics, old coins, Spanish Reales, relics, and great finds come out of the ground. I owe that to a chance meeting--through an ex-girlfriend--at a mechanic's shop. Since then the friendship has become much more than simply detecting. I even played piano at his wedding this year. KFB, I just wanna say that I'm happy that we met and found a new inspiration to go detectin. After some time away from this detecting addiction, I must say that it's great to be back. Thank you for everything. I know we'll have some more great finds in our hands in 2008. Merry Christmas to you, your wife, and all of your friends. Keep the passion high.
Your Friend,
Buckleboy

WOW! Im not sure what to say except for the feeling is the same to you my friend. If we had not of met I would not have seen a sword belt plate come out of the ground and if I live to be 100 years old I will never forget that high we both shared that day and most people will say that Im a liar but Im happy that you found it instead of me. That is one of my best memories ever and that includes my whole life not just the detecting part of it.
I wish we had more time to dig than what we do but work comes before play. If it were up to me it would be the other way around! I cant wait to see what 2008 holds for us. Buckle? Silver? If its one big skunk it will still be fun. Digging is just a small part of our trips, its the drive there and back that is usually where we do the most laughing!
Lets recap some memories- hunting for minnies in 95 degree heat and just about getting heat stroke. Using a hammer to bust through the frozen ground at the 69 field just so we could get our lead fix. Tractor man!!! (hey the one year anniversary is coming up this week for that hunt) I was solo that day but it was fun getting screamed at by a guy on a tractor. I kept thinking to myself Will should be here. The treasure mobile (RIP) Water hunting without a water machine. The purple people eater. Jamie W KGC pizza Doing a little golfing at night. Bottle lady and her stories. (I sit in the car on those). Introduction to Fisher and there battery doors. Hey I got it fixed even though you never reminded me. Horse shyt smell in the car (it has not drove right since). The 69 cal minnie photo shoot right in the eyes to Dan the man. Waking up with a grape shot in my back. Hot chick getting permission. The memories with her scarf! YEAH!!! Walking 18 miles at HB's just to watch you dig cool stuff! Just to name a FEW!
You are the detecting and research God in my eyes and look up to you a great deal. The passion is still high. Very high brother thanks to you. If not for us meeting my detector would be put away in a closet and most likely have not even been turned on these last few years. For that I owe you a big thanks.
Congratulations Tom....You deserve it. I love your threads and the adventures you guys go on and hope one day to be able to have a chance to hunt with you. Thanks for the help you have given me and I hope you stay at Tnet for a long time!
I go a great distance, while some are considering whether they will start today or tomorrow
Awwwwh...we both got smooches, Tom. As far as memories go--here are a couple more... You forgot that the shyt smell in your vehicle was the second time. The first was the time I stepped in doggy poo while coinshooting some curbs with ya :P Oh, and watching bleach-blonde homely-looking 19-year olds wash their cars... Or perhaps getting kicked out of a Chicken restaurant... Yeah, that hammer and chisel "lead fix" day the snow was flyin so hard I couldn't hardly even see the searchcoil LOL! Oh, and we won't even talk about the heatstroke...OR the TICKS that day And besides the Treasuremobile (R.I.P.) there has been one other causalty: Silver Sabre (R.I.P.). She was a good machine...until that day Buck and Kindabuck decided to go water huntin' without a water machine YEAH! Hey, if you want we can send Tractor Man a fruit basket LOL! It's time for your yearly visit. At least we should send him a bundt cake or sumthin.
All the best to you, buddy.

Thanks Gypsy to you and your striped legs! BB and me make a great team and Im a very lucky person to have met a guy like him. He is the best friend a person could ask for. If I ever need anything I always know who I can count on to be there for me day or night rain or shine. And it would be great to dig with you sometime and Im sure BB will agree with me on that!

I'll toast to that as well! I'll bring a little Buckleboy-Style-Research with me and nobody should get skunked.
Cheers,
Buckle

Uh...oh... You had better get ready Tom !!! the Buckleboy laid it on so thick that he has to be getting ready to try to borrow a LOT of money from you or else he'll try to get you to give him another car! LOL
Thing is... you laid it on so thick back to him that you must be planning to try to talk him out of the now-famous-buckle he found on your site. Hee, hee hee! First time I have seen anyone elevated to "God" status on TNET... you must want that buckle pretty bad!!

Good to hear from ya, DC. You've missed a lot here on Tnet--unless you've been lurking a bit, lately.
I would've been fine with the designation "Demigod." "God" status is a bit too much....I have to remain modest.

If he dies before me the buckle will go to me. Thats the agreement. Keep your fingers crossed! If I die first he gets my wife and bills.
