Saw these in a case with another set that was more obviously plated. The gold washed interior threw me off for a second but the bright silver demanded my attention. Cream and sugar set with tray marked "Prelude" international sterling C147 on cream&sugar and W47 on tray. So 361 grams over 12 ounces for $7.99 ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1460692119.512266.jpg

Wow that's a great find for eight dollars! I've never seen it with the gold inside either. If I did I would've walked by it also. Congratulations on that score!

That's a killer find!! We found a small sterling baby cup last year that had that same gold wash on the inside. Great job!!

Awesome. As a set you should be able to get more than melt for it. Nice

I thought I read that a lot of the "IS" is plated..? I've passed on a few pieces that had "IS' (International Silver co) on them.
So, what's the real deal?

All the pieces I've seen that had IS on them were plated. If you double check the original post you'l see it was marked International (manufacturer), Prelude (pattern), & sterling. That's the difference.
