Hi, I just picked up this charm bracelet at a local thrift shop. It came out of a box that had a nice 14k ring and a couple of other pieces of gold and silver. There are no marks except for on the shamrock charm. The mark looks like 8 CT to me. I tested the bracelet with the 10k acid and it dissolves after several minutes so if it is gold it is a lower karat. Does anybody recognize the style and possible age or maker. I paid a big $3 for it. Thanks Steve

Looks like 9ct to me. I've had several 9k gold pieces with that mark. Congratulations! So, how much does it weigh?

Probably 1950s-1960s. Maybe 1940s. Worth over $200 in melt alone.

My wife is thinking it is a repurposed watch fob. She says it is called a Fetter Link style. It shows wear at all of the links. I'm hoping it is something good.

Great News! Apparently, I don't know how to test gold. I took it to a local Jewelry shop and the charm is marked 8ct but the bracelet is 14k. It is a great day.

I think your wife is a wise woman. It could be a watch chain.

Check and see if the clasp is soldered on or not...
I don't think that this clasp is the original one.

Bracelet looks gold... or gold filled.
As far as the charm goes...
The mark IF 8ct it would be 8k gold.
Which is a common karat amongst these types.
BUT that same mark could be upside down and be a Taxco mark of some kind. ? ? ?

Does look like a section of old watch chain.

The loop that attaches the clasp on is not soldered on but the loops for the charms are.
