Picked up this little goodie today at a local thrift shop:

It's not marked so I assume it's probably just gold plated although the chain on it is gold filled (1/20 12k GF). The inside of the front cover needs a good cleaning but I was surprised to find it seems to run pretty well (has kept accurate time for over 6 hours since I wound it up).

I do need to figure out how to take the back off, otherwise I would have included a picture of the movement. The back is not hinged and I don't see anywhere to open it with a knife so I assume it might be a screw on back but it won't seem to budge.

The best part was the price. It was marked $0.99 but today everything in the store was 40% off so it came out to 70 cents plus tax!

It a fairly modern pocket watch and if it runs I wouldn't think you should take the back off, because those kind are pretty pressed on tight and you could very easily hack it up if you slip. You certainly got it for a good price.
