And are they rarer than the regular ones?? Because I've not seen a pair sold on eBay.

Unless I am mistaken, those are US Army Senior Pilot wings. The star signifies Senior rating. No star is pilot, star with circle is Command Pilot. They are probably a good bit more rare than standard, because not all that many pilots make Senior.

The back marks are what tells it's story. I may be wrong but that looks like a Jostens set of WW2 era wings to me.
