What a morning! I had to get up before any civilized person to drive almost 2 hours to meet a guy that had some old Triumph Motorcycle parts. I ended up with two nice 1952-56 gas tanks, an early 1960s 650cc head and a 1971-72 Conical front wheel for a grand total of $400. I should get $600 + each on the tanks, $100+ on the head and $50-$100 on the wheel. We decided to hit yard sales and thrift stores on the way home.{We took the LONG Way} I walked into the first thrift store and the lady at the counter was sorting jewelry. She would look at each piece with a magnifying glass, price it and the lay in the tray for me to check out. First piece was a 14 kt necklace for $5. Next 14kt bracelet for $4.50, then a 14 kt bracelet for $9, then 14kt earrings for $1, a nice sterling necklace for $2, another sterling necklace for $1 and a junk jar for $5. In the junk jar was a pair of 925 /14kt earrings, 2 other pairs of 925 earrings, 925 ring, 925 pin, $1 US Grant coin, and a very nice 10kt Oddfellows pin with a diamond. My wife bought a few other things along the way but this was all I got. I spent $426. What a Morning!!!!

My brilliant wife just found out the "oddfellows" pin is actually a Alpha Theta Pi Fraternity Pin with a real diamond.

Great day of gold for you! My last two days have been killer as well! And I have done very well on frat pins. Depending on the alma mater, they can go for a minimum of $150.00. My best one cost me $70 at an auction and sold for over $400!

I had one from some fraternity years ago and I called to see if the head guy would be interested in buying it. He went on to tell me how much money he made for a living because of his fraternity but he would like me to donate the pin to him. I sold it on eBay for $400.

I have that same pin in 10k gold. I couldn’t figure out what it was so it’s in a box in the safe. I’ll have to dig it out and list it now. Give you some competition! Haha! Awesome finds!
