I stopped by my favorite little hole-in-the-wall thrift about an hour after they opened and was looking over their small jewelry selection when I noticed a small beat-up jewelry box on the counter next to the register. When I asked the cashier what was in it she casually said "just junk" and then gave me permission to look through it. I hastily assembled a small handful of pieces and did an internal happy dance when she said I could have them all for a buck ($1.08 after tax). Two 14k brooches weighing a total of 12 grams, an old eagle mark taxco tie clip and a sterling bowling pin :) Can't remember the last time I had such a quick & easy score.

Sounds like "just junk" might have been an employee cover story.
