I picked up these today at a local thrift store for $5.99 each. The first is a signed/ numbered print of "Mallard Hen Decoy Bainbridge Penna. 1930" by Arthur Nevin. # 117/ 150 and is 25 3/4 inch by 17 3/4 inch. The other is an "Artist Proof" "Printemps" by Irene Borg and is 27 inch by 22 1/2 inch. I am planning on moving these on if possible. Does anyone have an idea of a fair fixed price for either one or a fair auction starting price? Sorry for the picture quality. I have a lot to learn about taking pictures before I try to sell. Thanks

I found a sales record online for a similar etching titled “Mallard Hen Decoy, Meredith, Vermont”, (#54/150) by Arthur Nevin, and unfortunately it sold for just $28. The measurements were only 11” x 17”, but I’m not sure if that is referring only to the artwork itself and not the matting and frame.

A sale record for Irene Borg for a “chromolithograph” measuring 19.69” x 19.69”, shows it sold for $63. I would think maybe $74.95 or something along those lines would be reasonable.

I think the duck could sell for $100-150. I think the Irene Borg proof would bring anywhere from $30-75 from the sold prices I could find. Her oil paintings seem to do quite well.

If the artist is popular enough that prints sell on a regular basis artist proofs will bring a premium. They often sell for 2-5 times what a regular print will sell for.
