Hit my old faithful TS today and they had put out a lot of new items including a bunch of silver plate. I quickly went through the flatware and found a really nice extra long sterling ladle with Minerva hallmark in the bowl. It is beautifully engraved. I then spied a serving spoon with early Gorham hallmarks. It tested positive for Sterling and both pieces weigh 4.8ozt and were $1.99 each. I then headed back to the clothing and what did my eyes see but something I’ve been looking to find a long time. A genuine navy leather flight jacket unfortunately the size is 46 long which is little too small for me. Either way these jackets go for sale for $200 and I only paid $20. I would love to find a real vintage World War II era one. I found one of the Navy G-1 jackets last year. I paid about the same and it was an easy sell at $175.

You had a good day!

Can you post a picture of the jacket label? Does the wind flap behind the zipper have pierced holes that form the letters USN? Something about the label looks a little off to me.

Looks like you know your way around a TS. Excellent discoveries and recoveries.

Thanks. Any idea what it would be used for?

Looks like a punch or similar drink ladle, because of pour spout on the edge, and the length.

I’ll get it shortly. It is a Willis & Geiger. I think it is a USN style made by the same company but sold under the W&G label for consumers

I wondered if it might be a repop or civilian model. Should still go for good money. I've sold a few that weren't USN issue and did well.
