43 year old Casino Watch

Got this for $5.86 today. I recall my 1st LCD I got was around the early 80s, but by then they were made mostly of plastic or plated metal, but not heavy stainless steel like this one is. This is definitely the oldest Casio I've ever owned. Not a Casino, just my phone thinks it should be a Casino.

I feel lucky on that one. Inside was an old Ray-O-Vac RW44 battery. No juice and no bleeding it had. I'll need to get me a 386 as I don't have one and hopefully it'll go. Buttons seem a bit sticky. The model No. is 03-503 which by what I've found online was a model from 1976. I really never knew you could by a Casio back then.

I've had some good results selling some of the older LCD watches. One early Seiko I picked up went for $220.00 to a collector in Britain. He gave me a list of others he'd like me to keep an eye out for, which wasn't just Seiko's, but other brands such as Casio. One I found was the first G Shock models, which I did find one and got $80.00 out of and I still have another old Casio DW-5200, I'll sometime get around to selling. Also I've got a bunch of basket case early digital Seiko's and others I'll maybe get a few bucks out of I'm thinking. They're really not the kind of watches I collect, but being some out there do, they can be worth picking up to make a few bucks on.

New battery didn't bring it to life. Searching online it's possible a little cleaning of contacts may do it some justis, but still it could be more than something simple. It now goes into the pile of projects. I was hoping to wear it this next week.

By chance does it have a master reset once you have installed the new battery
Might be holding down down one or more buttons for 2-5 seconds, to make the old circuit reboot.
I used to work on old scales and some time a series of pressing buttons or holding buttons would force a master reboot after new battery, if there has been a data corrupt........

Maybe. There's 4 buttons on it. I'll have a look at it when I get home Friday. Also I believe I read something that mentioned that about general problems with some older LCD watches.
