You ever have that feeling that you’re gonna find something good? My wife and I were driving by Goodwill like always, but today I said we have to go in because I feel like there’s silver in there. The 50% off sale was Saturday, so I was hoping they would load the shelves up while I was there Friday, and I wanted to find it before all the hunters come tomorrow. I told my wife I would only go in for ten minutes, unlike my usual 45min. I walk in, see an old plated looking box for $3 with no magic word on the bottom, but saw that it was well constructed, every part was stamped with a makers mark, and a nice ebonized finial- saw the hallmark on the back near the hinge- old English markings! I believe it is a sterling tea caddy or sugar with markings from Henry Stratford of Sheffield England, sterling, made in 1897. Took 3 minutes from leaving the car to find it on the shelf.
