Someone posted a Dandy of a watch in the garage sale section and I thought about how long it’s been since I got a gold pocket watch. I went into the GW and they brought out three jewelry bags. A pocket watch fob in two of the bags (goldfilled). And this awesomely beautiful watch was in the other. I thought that is was beautiful even if goldfilled. Paid $29 for each bag and could not wait to check out the watch in the car. 14K Theodore A. Kohn & Son case and dial with Waltham “Seaside” movement. It is a ladies size, but that stunning four leaf clover design would work on a men’s watch as well. And it works!

That’s a great looking watch. I love how they put the time in to make them so beautiful with the engraving. Great find

How does someone miss that 14K mark, it blow my mind some of the finds that are made at thrift stores when I go into them they have nothing but garbage on the shelves and ours don't even have jewelry anymore it has all gone ONLINE.

Really nice find!

Same here with the thrift stores, they are packed full of garbage.

Only the charity run ones have good stuff around here - and I don’t mean goodwill. Smaller ones run by non-profits like hospitals, rehab centers, houses of worship etc. They tend to keep the product moving and aren’t interested in maximizing profit AND usually do not have antique and jewelry experts going over everything. There is always a tinge of guilt when you walk out with a steal though....
