After going to this one GW boutique at least 30 times they finally had a mechanical watch. Not just one but two. I picked up this nice 1960s Walthom mechanical alarm watch and a 17 jewel Elgin Watch. Alarm watches are my favorite complication in mechanical watches so I’m pretty excited to have another one for my collection. This one was in running condition and all it needed was a new crystal and I put it on a nice black leather strap. The Elgin as a non-runner but I’m sure I can get it fixed it seems to be in good shape. Only 12 bucks for the pair. IMG_6358.jpg

Getting rather rare to find vintage mechanical watches in the thrift stores anymore. Good thing collectors are paying up on very early LED and LCD wrist watches anymore, as I've been picking up those more frequently.

I just scored this one today from the other GW boutique in town for $10. Unfortunately a tad too small for my wrist.

Yeah, I buy any analog quartz if it's one that will make a buck. Best I found was a 1980s mens Corum quartz which I sold about the time I first started doing eBay. It didn't have a solid gold case, but it did sell around $400. if I remember.
